Caribbean Vacation: Sunglasses for Style and Protection

You probably heard a lot about the Ray-Ban brand name. I must confess I did not think much about Ray-Ban until I decided to changes my glasses. The optometrist forced on me these expensive frames and sang the praises of how good they are. I reluctantly fell for his sweet adoration of the brand and left his store a few hundred dollars poorer.

However, despite my financial woes I now recognize the name Ray-Ban everywhere I go. Since I picked up my glasses I have been paying attention to the name. I now see it everywhere. So it looks like I picked up a durable pair of eyeglasses. I normally keep my frames for a maximum of four years but change the lenses every two years. But depending on the compliments I get, I might decide to change the frame every two years. So much for my need for recognition, and of course, style.

Also Ray-Ban glasses ushered in the era of sunglasses. Originally, aviators used Ray-Ban glasses for protection of the glare and sunlight during their flights. If you look at old movies you will see flyers standing by their planes and having the glasses on their nose bridge. Then, the hip Hollywood stars jumped on them, wearing them to look stylish. If you see old photos of Jacqueline Kennedy, you would see her wearing a stylish pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses.

Of course, the rest of us got our turn to wear sunglasses just like the stars and other celebrities, and Ray-Ban sunglasses hit mainstream. Since then, other manufacturers have entered the field and mass produced sunglasses. This means that everyone now wears sunglasses not only for protection from the sun and UV rays, but for style.

You too can get your fashionable pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses and wear them with style on your next caribbean vacation.
