I am curious about an issue that comes up occasionly. It is about family ties and where you stand when it comes to your family. Now, when I say family I include relatives you have a close relationship with. For example, your parents, aunts, siblings, and those people who you bonded with during your early years.
So this is the matter I want your opinion on: You booked a caribbean vacation to say, Jamaica, some weeks ago. You decided against insurance because you knew that nothing could stop you from going on that trip. Well, it so happened that you received an early morning telephone call saying that one of your closed ones had passed away and they will perform full funeral rites within the next four days.
You have a decision to make because you plan to leave for the sunny island around that time. What would you do?
Remember there is no right or wrong answer to a question like this. Everything depends on your values and priorities and you should decide accordingly. I know how I will decide but I want to know what you think. I remember having a similar decision to make many years ago but it involved something that I could negotiate locally.
Please take your time on this one because it will come up at least once in your lifetime. How would you decide?
